Male Breast Reduction
The appearance of male breasts may seem minor to the outside observer, but if you are suffering from gynecomastia, you know firsthand the self-consciousness that abnormal glandular breast and fatty tissue development can cause. I can help you regain a well-defined, more muscular chest with male breast reduction, so you can feel confident about yourself and your body again.
Is This You?
Here are some of the common reasons I hear about why a man is considering breast reduction:

Is Male Breast Reduction Right for Me?
Male breast reduction can help men who have developed glandular breast tissue as a result of hormone imbalance (particularly during puberty), a side effect of certain medications, or other factors. In many cases, the root cause of this condition is not able to be determined. I also perform the procedure for men who have fatty deposits on their chests rather than actual glandular breast tissue. This is typically seen in men who are struggling with excess weight.
If a root cause can be identified, treatment may be recommended prior to surgery. For example, men who are overweight may find that they can achieve a more muscular look by committing to a weight loss routine, while adolescent boys may see their gynecomastia resolve on its own without treatment as their hormones become more balanced.
While male breast reduction may appear to be a fairly straightforward procedure, I account for many factors in order to deliver positive final results. I believe in taking a conservative approach whenever possible. To begin the procedure, a small incision is made around the areola. If only fatty tissue needs to be removed, I primarily use liposuction to remove fatty tissue via gentle suction. If both glandular tissue and fatty tissue need to be removed, I will combine liposuction with surgical excision. In severe grades of gynecomastia, skin excision and recontouring may also be necessary.
After surgery, you will wear a special compression garment to help keep you comfortable and minimize impact to the chest area. It’s common to notice some swelling, bruising and tenderness initially; I can recommend medication if needed. Most men are able to return to work and normal daily routines within a week, and can resume exercise and other vigorous activities about a month after surgery.
