Serving Orange County: Newport Beach and Fullerton, CA
Lip enhancement can benefit younger people who want a fuller pout to their lips as well as people who have noticed signs of aging such as wrinkles and decreased volume in the lips. Whether you have naturally thin lips or have lost volume in your lips as part of the aging process, I can create a more youthful look through lip augmentation using injectable fillers.

Lip Augmentation for Fuller Lips
Many younger women particularly are interested in achieving a fuller, plumper look to their lips. In these cases, I can inject JUVÉDERM® or a similar injectable filler into the body of the lip to create a fuller lip. I am careful to avoid overfilling the lip in these cases, which can create an overly exaggerated appearance of a “duck lip.” The goal is to create a nice, full pout that still looks natural. I perform lip augmentation in the office, first administering a dental block to maximize comfort during treatment.
Lip Enhancement for Wrinkles and Lost Volume
For my patients with thinned lips that have lost volume over time, I take more of a restorative approach. Volume can be increased, again using an injectable filler, but the goal is typically a more subtle and conservative enhancement. I can correct some of the lines that cause lipstick bleed for a more defined, rounded border between the lip and surrounding skin. This procedure is also performed right in the office, numbing the lip with a dental block to minimize pain.
Recovery and Results
After a lip augmentation or enhancement procedure, it’s typical for a patient to have a day or two of discomfort, and the lips may look slightly more swollen immediately following treatment than they will be once recovery is complete. Because dermal fillers are absorbed by the body eventually, repeat treatments are necessary roughly every 6 to 9 months to maintain results.
