Chemical Peels

Facial Peels in Orange County: Newport Beach

Chemical Facial PeelsEnvironmental factors and the natural aging process can cause your skin to look rough, uneven and blotchy. By removing the dead and damaged surface layers of skin with a chemical peel, I am able to reveal smoother skin, treat fine lines, lighten age spots, improve the appearance of acne and acne scars, and create a more balanced complexion overall. Chemical peels can be used on areas of the body but are most often used for the face, neck and hands.

Is This You?

Here are some of the common reasons I hear about why a person is considering a chemical peel:

  • I want to reduce fine lines and wrinkles for a more youthful appearance
  • I’ve noticed rough patches of skin and want a smoother skin texture
  • Uneven facial pigmentation, brown spots, and age spots are making me look older
  • I want to improve the appearance of acne scars
  • I have freckles but I wish they didn’t stand out so much
When I met Dr. Savalia I knew instantly that I was going to have a great experience. He was so warm, so real and so kind. Now I love looking in the mirror. And people notice how nice I look.– RANDI, Real PatientSee more Real patient Stories

The Chemical Peel Process

Chemical peels are specially formulated for your skin needs and then applied directly to the surface of the skin. The peel formulation removes damaged skin cells to leave behind a more youthful skin tone. I perform chemical peels as standalone treatments and also incorporate them into more comprehensive regular beauty treatments for some patients. Peels can be combined with other non-surgical procedures including BOTOX® Cosmetic around the eyes to remove crow’s feet or injectable fillers for minimizing deeper lines and wrinkles.

Recovery and Results

The depth of the peel applied to the skin will be a significant factor in how much recovery time each patient should expect. Very light peels generally require almost no downtime, while deeper peels that target skin imperfections and deeper blemishes can take about a week for full recovery. During recovery, the skin will feel and look as if it has been sunburned, and the treated surface skin will peel off to reveal newer skin layers.

After your chemical peel, you will still look like yourself, but you will be able to enjoy a younger look with improved skin texture that is softer, smoother and unblemished.
