Is Breast Augmentation Right for Me?
Breast augmentation is ideal for women who want to increase their breast size, or whose breasts have changed in size as a result of pregnancy or following weight loss. Breast implants enhance your figure by adding volume, and both silicone gel and saline implants are available for a greater level of customization. The best candidates for surgery are in good health physically and mentally, and have realistic expectations about their results.
I understand that breast enhancement is a big decision and I want to provide you with the resources to feel happy about your choices. During a breast augmentation consultation, I offer Vectra 3D imaging to help you see what specific implant types and sizes may look like on your own body frame before you schedule surgery. We’ll also spend a good amount of time discussing which implant sizes and shapes and which incision options best match up with your appearance goals.
Through an incision made around the areola or within the breast crease, I will place your selected implants below the chest muscles. In some cases, I may recommend incorporating a breast lift along with implants during the surgical procedure to lift and reshape natural breast- tissue while increasing volume.
After your procedure, you will be provided with detailed post-operative instructions to ensure that your healing goes as smoothly as possible. The first 24 to 48 hours after your surgery likely will be the most uncomfortable, with your breasts feeling swollen and tender. Most of my patients are ready to resume their regular daily activities after about a week. I will have you return to the office for a follow-up visit and be available to answer any questions or address any concerns during your recovery.
